Big Blue River Bridge at Blue Rapids Imploded Wednesday (video)
Highway 77 over the Big Blue River near Blue Rapids was closed for a short time Wednesday afternoon while the old bridge structure was imploded. Voter Turnout Higher Than Expected Tuesday
Voter turnout in Tuesday’s General Election was a little higher than normal around the area. Marshall and Nemaha County both reported that voter turnout was 67-68%, about average, while Washington and Gage County both reported a little higher than normal, with Washington County reporting 71% voter turnout and Gage County with 68%. Blue Springs Brawl Sends 2 to Beatrice Hospital
Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Wymore and Beatrice Rescue workers were called to a 5 person brawl in Blue Springs early Sunday morning. Ambulances transported 23 year old Holly Mick of Wymore and 23 year old Adrian Hourigan of Axtell to Beatrice Community Hospital for injuries sustained from the fight.
