Eight Head of Cattle Found Dead in Nemaha County
Eight head of cattle were found dead in late April north of Seneca, apparently poisoned by a bucket of Furadan, a trade name for Carbofuran, which controls insects in field crops, including potatoes, corn, and soybeans. The STEP Foundation Board of Directors has hired Leslie Scoby as it’s new Executive Director. She replaces Tami Haverkamp who resigned earlier this year to spend more time with her family. Construction of Wind Farm in Marshall County Expected This Year
Construction of a wind farm between Beattie and Summerfield is planned for sometime this year. RPMAccess of Des Moines, IA, would like to start building this year because federal subsidies for wind farms are expected to expire at the start of 2014. Two Wymore Residents Arrested for Methamphetamine Use
Two Wymore residents were arrested Wednesday afternoon for possession of methamphetamine.
