Centralia Lake Under Public Health Warning

Centralia Lake has once again been listed as a lake under a health warning due to toxic blue-green algae. A public health warning indicates that water conditions are unsafe and direct water contact is prohibited.  KDHE will continue to monitor the lakes and will provide updates as conditions warrant. Bridge Construction Moving Forward


The Gage County Board of Supervisors chose Simons Contracting to begin replacing a deteriorating bridge in Wymore Wednesday morning. Simons, with a Nebraska office based in North Platte, was awarded the contract for $1,238,871. The bridge crosses Indian Creek on 51st Road southeast of Wymore. Washington County Homecoming Friday Night

Sheriff Searching for Stolen Farm Equipment


The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating more than $30,000 worth of stolen farm equipment, including a John Deere tractor. Sheriff Greg Riat issue a news release Tuesday stating a 2009 John Deere 4520 tractor with front loader, black Bohnert 18-foot flatbed trailer and grass seeder was stolen from the Manhattan area.
