Specialty Crop Block Grant Program Open

The Kansas Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the 2012 Specialty Crop Block Grant program. Funds for the program are awarded to the agency by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service. KFB Announces New Director

Kansas Farm Bureau Announces the New Director for the Fifth District. She will represent the northeast/central Farm Bureau District which includes Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Geary, Marshall, Ottawa, Republic, Riley, Saline and Washington Counties. Blue Springs Cabin Recieves Renovation FUnding.

The Blue Springs Cabin will receive funding for improvements.   The log cabin was originally built in 1857.  The Gage County Board of Supervisors approved a visitors improvement fund grant to the City of Blue Springs in the amount of $3,092 and will go towards repairs for the cabin located in the city park. CMH South Plaza Nears Completion

Walmart Text Scam Reported

The Better Business Bureau issued a news release Wednesday to draw attention to a a new type of texting scam called “smishing,” which includes a Walmart gift card scam in Kansas.
