Fire Destroys Baler, Buildings and Hay Field.

  The Washington, Hanover, Steele City, Diller and Hollenberg fire departments were called out to a fire north of Washington, not far from the Nebraska border. According to Jerry Aldridge, Washington Rural Fire Chief a baler caught fire and started a field on fire.  The fire spread to an abandoned farm and destroyed several small buildings.  Aldridge said they remained ... City of Marysville Pursues $4.2 Million Pool and Sales Tax Increase

Nearly every county and city in the KNDY listening area has instituted a burn ban due to the dry conditions.  Anyone intending to start a burn should contact their local law enforcement, city clerk or emergency management office before starting the burn.  Persons starting burns during the bans may be subject to fines and possible arrest.
