Disabling Injuries Reported In Train Collision

A train collided with a farm sprayer a mile west of Baileyville Friday morning. Bruce Buessing, 42, of Axtell was crossing the tracks on C Road; just north of U.S. Highway 36 in Nemaha County shortly before 8:30 a.m. Buessing suffered disabling injuries, and was transported to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. Bond Set In Blue Springs Assault Case

An appearance bond is set at $5,000 for 27-year-old Krystal Rainey, who was arrested Thursday evening near Blue Springs in connection with an assault earlier that evening that led authorities to a Blue Springs residence, where Rainey had fled. She is pending charges of making a terroristic threat, as well as assault and domestic assault is alleged. Read More »

Southeast Nebraska Cooperative Votes To Merge With Farmers Cooperative

Southeast Nebraska Cooperative Patrons voted to merge with Farmers Cooperative of Dorchester, nearly 85% in favor with results of a mail-in ballot announced at a special stockholders meeting. Semi Strikes Car Near Hanover; Sends Teen To Hospital

An injury accident was reported Thursday evening shortly before 6 p.m. at the Hanover junction on U.S. Highway 36. Nineteen-year-old Christopher Mayfield of Marysville was crossing the highway, and was struck by a westbound semi driven by 55-year-old Thomas Richey of Union Star, Missouri.
