Washington County Commission Meeting Minutes – July 7th

The Board of County Commission (BOCC) for Washington County met in regular session on Monday, July 7, 2014 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Members present: Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman; Roger Otott, Vice Chairman, 2nd District Commissioner; and Gary Ouellette, 3rd District Commissioner. Diana Svanda, Payroll Clerk, was present to record meeting minutes.

Next regular meeting will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at 8:30 A.M.

Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order.

Svanda submitted payroll and bills totaling $587,528.92.

Shirley Marrs, District Court Clerk, expressed concerns over the lack of cleaning and maintenance performed on the second floor of the Courthouse.

Janice Kearn, County Health Administrator, submitted a payroll change notice for Eireson Brockmeyer who has completed her 6 month training period. Chairman Mueller signed the payroll change notice.

The Board signed Resolution 06-14 authorizing participation in the Rural Opportunity Zone Student Loan Repayment Program.

The Board signed a memo to all Courthouse employees regarding the use of business phones for personal phone calls.

The Board signed official minutes from June 16, June 23, and June 30.

Duane Bruna, Environmental Science Director, discussed letters sent to landowners who have noxious weeds on their property.

The Board stated that coffee for employees will no longer be paid for with County funds. A memo will be distributed to all departments regarding the policy on purchasing items used by employees.

Don Alldredge, Janitor, was called in to discuss cleaning issues on the second floor.

The Board opened grader blade bids at 11:00. Two bids were opened from Welborn Sales ($21,561.00) and D-C Wholesale $21,054.00). Commissioner Otott moved to award bid to Welborn Sales because D-C Wholesale did not submit all information required on bid. Commissioner Ouellette seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously.

David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, presented weekly work report.

The meeting adjourned at 11:45 A.M.
