5K RUN/ WALK
(Contact Angie Talbot with questions 785-736-2725) Registration @ Axtell City Park begins at 7:00 am. Race starts at 7:30 am. Registration fee of $15.00. All proceeds go to Axtell Ball Association for equipment.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast burritos & cinnamon rolls served at firehouse @ 8:00 am by St. Michael’s CYO group.

BICYCLE FUN RUN FOR KIDS
Registration @ gazebo by bank begins at 9:00 am. Run starts at 9:30 am. All proceeds go to Axtell Pride.

CLAY PIGEON SHOOT
(9:00 am – 4:00 pm) Come and go. Located south of Axtell 1/4 mile. $20.00 per shoot. Discount for multiple shoots. Contact Jake @ 785-736-2259 with questions. Throwing by Robert Christener. Plaques given. All proceeds go to Axtell Pride.

KIDS GAMES/ ACTIVITIES
(10:00 am-1:00 pm) Fun assortment of activities and games. We will have a bounce house, photo booth, face painting, train rides, and several other fun activities. (Some will be pay per activity and some will be included in the purchase of a wristband.) All proceeds go to Axtell Pride.

FRISBEE GOLF

(1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Kids pedal tractor pull (register @ 12:30/ starts @ 1:00pm.) Location: 1 block west of fire house (2nd & Maple)

HANDCRAFTED BINGO
(1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) Axtell American Legion – $5.00 a card. All proceeds go to a local cancer benefit. Contact Amy Smith @ 785-736-2970.

TRACTOR COUNTRY CRUISIN’

FIREMAN’S BBQ & METHODIST CHURCH ICE CREAM
(5:00 pm) Axtell American Legion. All proceeds go to Axtell Fire Department & United Methodist Church.

TIM STRATHMAN BAND
(9:00 pm – Midnight) Band is sponsored by: Axtell Truss, Moonlight Restoration, H&R Construction, Midwest Metal Supply, B&D Buildings, & Dave’s Hardware.

Street dance will be located on Main Street. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs. Rock paper scissors contest: At first break during dance (9:45-10:00). Sponsored by Almark Auto Repair.

Parents: There will not be any bicycles allowed during the dance for the safety of everyone dancing. Thank you for your cooperation.

About Derek Nester

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer. Derek is now responsible for the digital content of Dierking Communications, Inc. six radio stations. In 2005 Derek joined the staff of KCFX radio in Kansas City as a production coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, which airs on over 70 radio stations across 12 Midwest states and growing.
