The Gage County Assessor last week apprised the Board of Supervisors on a 23.5% increase in Ag Land Values in the county. That compares with a 2.5% increase for residential and recreation properties, and a nearly 5% increase in commercial and industrial valuations. The change is due to significantly rising prices paid for agricultural land that is sold. Adjacent counties saw increases ranging from 13% in Pawnee County, to a nearly 40% increase in Saline County. Valuations are to be mailed this month, with owners’ deadline to protest June 30.
