Post Office Hours Adjusted In Beattie & Washington County

Postal officials last week hosted a public meeting in Beattie proposing a reduction of 12.5 hours each week in office hours.

New hours proposed will be Monday – Friday 8:30 – 12:30, and Saturdays 8:30 – 9:30. The meeting followed surveys mailed to patrons.

Only 82 of 207 surveys were returned, with a majority preferring adjusted hours, versus options of delivery only, village post office, or using a nearby post office.

The Hanover community recently received word that daily window hours at the Post Office will increase one half hour to a total of six hours per day. The rest of the county post offices, with exception of Washington will operate four hours per day, scheduled to take effect in September. Washington is to remain open eight hours daily.
