Nemaha County authorities arrested a Lawrence man, 55-year-old James W. Boyd in connection with the theft of a trailer parked at a Seneca business. A citizen had taken the vehicle tag April 8, noticing the suspicious vehicle. A cut padlock was found at the scene. Follow up investigation led to a rural Marshall County residence, and Boyd was subsequently located and stopped north of Beattie. A set of bolt cutters was retrieved from the vehicle. Boyd was allowed to leave, but will be charged with attempted felony theft and criminal damage.
