Funeral Service Planned For Marysville Teen Killed In Highway Accident

Hunter Mayfield, 13, of Marysville passed away on April 17th following injuries sustained in an accident on U.S. Highway 36 on April 10th. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Hanover High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in the Marysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at Hanover Mortuary.

ORIGINAL STORY – FRIDAY, APRIL 11

An injury accident was reported Thursday evening shortly before 6 p.m. at the Hanover junction on U.S. Highway 36. Nineteen-year-old Christopher Mayfield of Marysville was crossing the highway, and was struck by a westbound semi driven by 55-year-old Thomas Richey of Union Star, Missouri. A passenger in the Mayfield vehicle, 13-year-old Hunter Mayfield, was transported to the Hanover Hospital with disabling injuries. The driver, Christopher Mayfield and another passenger, 14-year-old Jessica Larabee suffered possible injury, but were not transported to the hospital. The semi driver was not injured.
