Marysville Football Spring Cleanup & Community Service Project Planned

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, football players and coaches from Marysville High School will each be performing five hours of community service in Marysville. Area senior citizens and churches will receive top priority for having this free service done which usually consists of yard work, raking leaves, and various odd jobs. The safety of our athletes and availability of any tools necessary will also play a part in what jobs we are able to commit to. With over 40 players currently in our football program, we can get a great deal accomplished in one day. Each player will work on a crew with a coach and have a list of houses and projects to complete. This a fantastic opportunity for our athletes to give something back to our community!

We are seeking your support for this service project. A few years ago, members of the community, and members of the coaching staff at MHS, revamped the weight room from top to bottom. All of their hard work resulted in MHS having remarkable facilities in which to train our students and athletes. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to complete the remodel and purchase a few additional pieces of equipment. All of the money raised goes back to support Bulldog Athletics. We plan to use the majority of the funds to purchase additional lifting platforms, and products focused on improving speed and agility, which will benefit all of USD 364’s sports programs, including future Bulldog athletes. As the football players will be performing this service, we will also use a portion of the funds to purchase travel bags for our players. Please help us make this service learning project a success and in the process, make Marysville one of the best communities in which to live!

What we feel sets this project apart is the fact that your donation will be used on equipment that benefits ALL of Marysville’s programs, and all of the students who use the weight room, not just currently, but also those who will be part of the Bulldog Family in the years to come! Please complete the attached page and return it by April 4th with your donation. Your cancelled check will serve as your receipt.

This service program will benefit both the community and our students. From our entire football program, we thank the community for their support and help this past season, and for their constant support of all of our schools programs! Many of our kids have already begun investing in the weights program, in preparation for next season.
