Area Schools Announce Make-Up Plans For Winter Cancellations

Marysville Schools will attend a full day Wednesday, February 12th as make-up for recent snow days. Teacher in-service was originally scheduled. In addition, the Marysville High School basketball games here with Riley County will be held this Saturday. Girls will tip off at 6, boys to follow, with junior varsity and varsity only, no freshman games.

USD 113 Prairie Hills will make up snow days February 17 and April 18. Axtell High School will make up basketball, hosting Hanover on Monday, February 17th.

None of the other area districts have snow days to make up. Basketball games rescheduled include Washington County at Doniphan West this Saturday, Frankfort will host Troy on Tuesday, February 18th, and Valley Heights has a make-up game at Blue Valley February 24th.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication.
