Travelodge Motel Standoff Suspect Found Dead In Gage County Detention Center

A man who surrendered after a several hour standoff with authorities in Beatrice last week, and was taken into custody, was found dead in his cell at the Gage County Detention Center early Saturday morning. Adam Wolken had reportedly threatened suicide while confronting a woman with whom he had a previous relationship. That later escalated into a forced entry into a room where that woman and another were staying at the Travelodge. Cause of death was not released, and a grand jury investigation will follow, as prescribed by state law in such instances.
