According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grisomm, Monica Smart, 49 of Frankfort pled guilty to one count of mail fraud, and sentenced to 21 months in federal prison. The charges were in connection with a scheme where Smart changed customer mailing addresses and they did not receive premium notices. She also changed the billing cycles, collecting the difference in premium payments during a period from January 2009, through August 2010 while she was employed with United Insurance of Marysville. Proceeds were used for personal expenses. United Insurance was responsible for reimbursing outstanding customer expenses incurred.
