Marysville City Council Meeting Notes

The Marysville City Council opted to postpone a decision on a planning committee recommendation to rezone a 3 1/2 acre property east of Marysville from suburban residential to multi family, allowing for construction of 22 duplexes near the new water tower. Neighbor concerns to the south regarding water runoff issues had forced developers to revisit the request. Earlier the city had approved funding a drainage study, and will install two tubes, in an effort to improve water flow. Council on a 6-2 vote Monday chose to wait until that work is complete, and will bring the request up again at the March 24th meeting.

The mayor broke a 4-4 tie vote to approve a federal capital improvement plan for the Marysville Airport, which is required for the city to remain eligible for future federal funding for airport improvements.

Discussion was held regarding city employees attending conferences, following a request for an estimated $1,399 for the city clerk to attend a five day convention of municipal clerks in Milwaukee. That was approved on a 5-3 vote, with Carla Grund, Vicki Gross, and Dennis Schroller voting no.

The community tennis committee is to meet next week with Olsenn Associates to consider geo technology reports and layout options.
