Washington County Board of Commissioners Meeting Minutes – Dec. 30

These minutes are unofficial until approved by the Washington County Board of Commissioners at their next meeting. Prepared by Denae Dimler, County Clerk.

The Board of County Commission for Washington County met in regular session on Monday, December 30, 2013 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Members present: Roger Otott, Vice Chairman, 2nd District Commissioner; Gary Ouellette, 3rd District Commissioner; and Denae Dimler, County Clerk. Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman, was absent.

Next regular meeting will be Monday, January 6, 2014 at 8:30 A.M.

Vice-Chairman called the meeting to order.

Marlene Stamm, Sanitarian, presented work report. She pointed out that she has several unfinished Rural Lakes permits that have been outstanding for several years and would like to get them cleaned up. Commissioner Ouellette made a motion to approve a request to have all unfinished permits cleaned up by May 1, 2014 or the permits will need to be reissued and the fee assessed again to complete the work. Commissioner Otott seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Ann Hawk, County Treasurer, reported there are new regulations for commercial vehicles taking effect January 1, 2014.

Janice Kearn, County Health Administrator, submitted 2013 inventory. The Board talked to Janice about vehicle purchases in the coming year.

Justin Cordry, Sheriff, reported there are four Washington County inmates in the jail. Justin has been in contact with the roofing company regarding the buckling roof on the law enforcement center and is still waiting on a response. The contract with the City of Washington needed revising so Justin will be submitted a new contract to the Board in the next week or two. Justin requested executive session for non-elected personnel. No decision was made.

Gloria Moore, Tourism Director, presented December tourism report.

David Willbrant, Public Works Director, presented weekly work report.

Larry Bruna, Hutton Construction, gave an update on the hospital remodel/addition.

Denae Dimler, County Clerk, presented change orders 2013-27 and 2013-28.

Resolutions 12-13 to 22-13 were approved and signed by Board members authorizing year-end transfer of funds to equipment reserve, capital outlay, and special machinery funds.

Meeting adjourned at 1:00 P.M.
