Washington County Board of Commissioners Meeting Minutes – Nov. 12

The Board of County Commission for Washington County met in regular session on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Members present: Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman; Roger Otott, Vice Chairman, 2nd District Commissioner; Gary Ouellette, 3rd District Commissioner; and Denae Dimler, County Clerk.

Next regular meeting will be Monday, November 18, 2013 at 8:30 A.M.

Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order.

Elizabeth Hiltgen, County Attorney, presented the Board with two agreements. Commissioner Otott made a motion to approve the driveway easement agreement with The Centennial Homestead Inc. Commissioner Ouellette seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Denae Dimler, County Clerk, presented bills and payroll totaling $204,381.67. Chairman Mueller signed official bond and affidavit of sureties for Jason Hoover, Treasurer of Kimeo Township. Denae presented annual reports for all 25 Washington County Townships. The Board reviewed all annual reports.

The Board broke at 9:30 A.M. to attend County Government Day. They resumed regular session at 10:10 A.M. Commissioner Ouellette left the meeting to attend a concealed carry meeting in Beloit.

Justin Cordry, reported there are currently 6 Washington County, and 1 Marshall County inmates in the jail. Sheila Ouellette, Communications Director, joined Justin to discuss inmate meals, mechanical problems at the law enforcement center, and earned time for part-time employees. Justin will be checking with the hospital to see if they would be able to supply meals for inmates.

David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, presented weekly work report and discussed personnel matters. The Board gave David permission to advertise in the Washington, Marshall and Republic County newspapers for full time positions.

The Board broke for lunch at noon. Upon resuming regular session at 1:00 P.M., the Board began acting as the Public Building Commission (PBC) and were joined by Janice Kearn and Justin Cordry. Commissioner Otott made a motion to sign a temporary construction easement agreement with The Centennial Homestead Inc. Janice Kearn seconded the motion. Motion passed. The next PBC meeting will be held Monday, November 18 at 11:30 A.M.

The meeting adjourned at 1:30 P.M.
