Clean Line Energy Requests Information

Grain Belt Express, Clean Line Energy is moving forward with a request for information from wind generators in Kansas regarding their demand for electric transmission capacity, helping define the cost effectiveness and production potential of wind resources in western Kansas. They are proposing a 750 mile direct current transmission line that would deliver wind energy to markets in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and states further east. The project raised the concern of local landowners, with the Kansas Corporation Commission recently approving application for the transmission line route as proposed from southwest, then through northeast Kansas, including Washington, Marshall, and Nemaha counties.
