Marysville USD 364 News & Notes

Consultants met Wednesday with student leaders, district employees, and patrons of USD 364 in the search for a new Marysville school superintendent. They had previously met with the school board to establish prioritized criteria for the screening process. Application deadline is December 18, with board review a month later. Timeline is announcing a new hire by early February.

The board at their November meeting approved a long range plan of goals and objectives, which include recruiting and retaining quality administration, teaching, and classified staff, maintaining a focus on strong academic achievement, maintaining fiscal responsibility, creating a safe and secure environment, and finally assessing district facilities. That would include working with an architectural consultant on a needs assessment for district facilities.

Two additional in-service days were added to the school calendar, with training January 2nd on a new evaluation system being adopted, and a drop in parent–teacher conference day along with training January 3rd. On a 5-2 vote, that option was approved. Discussion had included board member concerns with adding another two days without classes.
