Power Outages Planned For The City of Washington

The City of Washington will have two scheduled power outages on Friday, November 1, 2013.

  • 9:00 AM – 2 hour outage.
  • 2:00 PM – 30 minute outage.

All city utility customers will be affected.

Work is being performed to correct a problem with a connection in the substation, and to install switches on the substation at the power plant to reduce future outages when repairs may be needed on the main lines from the power plant to the city.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication.
