Fatality Accident Reported In Washington County Tuesday

WASHINGTON, KAN. – A tractor-trailer accident along US Highway 36 Tuesday near Washington left a 65-year-old Hanover man dead. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Larry Roger Mueller was traveling east on US Highway 36 following farming machinery, when a tractor-trailer attempted to pass his truck. The tractor-trailer was unable to complete the pass, and moved back into the right lane, striking Mueller’s truck. This is the second fatality accident involving a tractor-trailer in Kansas in as many days, when 72-year-old Marion Eastwood of Fort Scott was killed by a tractor-trailer that ran a stop sign in Fulton, Kan.
