A Manhattan man, 54 year old David Welch, formerly of Marysville, died as a result of injuries sustained when his vehicle left a Utah roadway and crashed in early September. He had been reported missing by family at the time.
The accident was discovered some six weeks later. The Associated Press this week released details of handwritten goodbye notes that Welch wrote family members, including his wife and four adult sons while trapped in the vehicle after the crash. Specifics of the letters were not disclosed, which the Utah Highway Patrol termed a very personal matter.
