U.S. Highway 36 Road Closure Planned In Jewell & Republic Counties

Monday, September 16 will see the start of a road closure in eastern Jewell and western Republic Counties. US-36 will be closed at the rail road crossing one mile west of the Highway 36 and K-199 junction.

Crews will be working on improvements for two days at the crossing. Eastbound traffic will be taken from the Highway 36 and K-14 junction south on K-14 to K-28 east then east on K-28 to K-148 continuing east to Highway 81 then north on 81 to rejoin 36.

Westbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse order. The work zone will cover from the US-36 and K-14 junction east to the Highway 36 and US-81 interchange.
