Farmers Market The local Farmers Market will be open for business every Saturday, May through October, from 8-11 a.m. at 7th & Broadway in historic downtown Marysville. You will find a large selection of baked goods, locally grown foods, plants and homemade crafts at the market.

Vendors must register with Marysville Sports & Recreation. For more information call 785-562-6818 or 785-562-2424.


Garage Sale – The Chamber of Commerce is now accepting Registrations for the annual City Wide Garage Sales. They will be held in conjunction with the US 36 Treasure Hunt on September 20-21-22, 2013. Cost to be included on the map is $7.00 and includes signage. Registration deadline is August 21, 2013 at 5 p.m.

To register, stop by the Chamber Office at 101 North 10th Street or request a form by emailing the chamber office.


Chips & Salsa

Join us at the Marysville Farmers Market for a Salsa Making Contest! There is no entry fee or pre-registration. Contestants must supply 1 pint of salsa. Categories are Fresh, Canned and Fruit. Judging will be on appearance, taste and texture. Prizes will be awarded. Also featured will be demonstrations of various salsa-making tips! For more information call Brian at 785-562-6818.

A creative dramatics class is a fun way to grow imaginations and learn basic theater skills. This fun workshop is for children in grades 1-6. Space is limited so register early. Call 785-562-2981 to pre-register or pick up a registration form at the Marysville Public Library or the Marysville Chamber of Commerce.

The Inaugural Golf Tournament and ParTee “Swinging Fore the Arts” is a 3-man scramble and limited to the first 20 teams. Registration includes green fees, lunch, and dinner. Participants will also enjoy live entertainment, socializing with friends, a dessert bar, a themed gift basket auction, and celebrating the beginning of MCAC’s 2013-2014 season. Golf tournament reservations are due by August 17th. Download a Reservation Form.

The first annual ArtoberFestKs is being planned for downtown Marysville on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! ArtoberFestKs is a celebration of the arts and the German heritage, and appeals to all ages with activities for everyone. Activities include an arts & crafts festival, food & drink, youth activities, 3 polka bands throughout the day and lots more. Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will be posted on the official website as they are finalized.

Applications are being accepted for the arts & crafts festival and for food vendors. Applications can be downloaded or picked up at the Chamber of Commerce Office.

About Derek Nester

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer.
