Suspects Arrested In Stolen Car & Fire in Blue Springs

A car stolen in Wymore late Saturday night was found torched at the Blue Springs Ballfield early Sunday. Twenty year old Patrick J Wahlstrom, and 20 year old Christopher Okeefe were arrested, and taken into custody in Blue Springs Sunday evening. Wahlstrom apparently drove the vehicle through Blue Springs at a high rate of speed with four passengers, including Okeefe. He wrecked the car into a tree line at the ballfield, where it was set on fire. Charges of arson, criminal mischief, reckless driving, unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle, assault, and evidence tampering are involved, with bond for Wahlstrom set at $200,000, and Okeefe at $50,000. After serving nearly a year in jail on charges related to a February 2012 crime spree across Jefferson and Gage Counties, Patrick Wahlstrom was on seven year intensive supervised probation. Arraignment is set for July 25 in Gage County District Court.
