Raises Approved, Auction Date Set By Washington County Commissioners

Washington County Commissioners at last week’s meeting voted to sell forty acres of land near the Washington County Hospital. The land will be sold at auction Monday, August 12. A motion was approved reinstating the longevity raises for county employees in three year intervals, and to be paid out in July. Temporary, elected, and seasonal employees are not eligible for longevity increases. The historical society has requested a letter of support for a grant application for improvements to the Washington County Jail and sheriff’s residence, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
