Clarification On Marysville Tennis Court Project

A clarification on the tennis court project in the Marysville City Park. The city council at their last meeting authorized moving forward with engineering work on construction of eight tennis courts, putting out a proposal for engineering work, which would involve site assessment and soil testing where the courts are currently located to determine if room exists for two additional courts. Negotiations continue with local representatives interested in seeing the courts developed, the United States Tennis Association, USD 364, and the City of Marysville. Grants may be available to fund part of the project. An agreement between the city and the school district has not been finalized, and this is a preliminary step in determining feasibility for moving forward with such a project. This authorization was for preliminary engineering work, and would require council approval before moving forward with any work on the tennis courts.
