Several Calls Keep Area Fire Fighters Busy

The Palmer Fire Department answered calls last Wednesday. A wheat field was on fire two miles west of Linn on K-148, and a truck caught fire in the 900 block of Fifth Road. The Barnes Fire Department responded to a smell of smoke at the Barnes CO-OP Thursday. The Morrowville and Haddam Fire Departments Friday answered a call to a combine and wheat field on fire at 24th and Indian Road, and a grass fire later on K-15 north of Morrowville.

A pickup caught fire last Tuesday in Nemaha County. Nathan Turnbull of Baileyville was on E Road, south of 224th, shortly before 6 am, when his ‘93 ford F-150 caught fire. No injuries, the damage estimate was over $1,000.
