Marshall County Qualifies As A Kansas Rural Enterprize Zone

Marshall County now qualifies as a Kansas Rural Enterprise Zone. If adopted by commissioners, the program allows a Kansas income tax waiver and student loan repayment assistance for individuals moving to the county. Fifty counties initially qualified for the program, with Marshall County among 23 additional that were added during the recent legislative session. Commissioners Monday heard a presentation from Lyle Peterson with the Kansas Department of Commerce. No action was taken Monday; the issue is scheduled to be discussed at the next meeting.
