Audrey Schmitz of the Axtell FFA was recognized during the FFA Convention in Manhattan held last week. Schmitz received a State FFA Proficiency Award in Dairy Production Entrepreneurship for outstanding accomplishments she has made in developing programs that will prepare her for a career in agriculture. The daughter of Joseph and Amy Schmitz, she plans to attend KSU after high school and pursue degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Communication and Journalism. Schmitz grew up on her family farm raising Holstein and Jersey cows and now owns 10 milking cows, 14 replacement heifers, and three bulls. Her FFA adviser at Axtell is Kristen Stratham.

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY.
