New Principal hired at Valley Heights High School

The Valley Heights Board of Education hired a new Junior-Senior High Principal in a special meeting on May 21 after Don Potter resigned earlier this year, effective July 31. He will become principal of an intermediate school in Neodesha on August 1. Shelly Swayne of Solomon was hired. She has been principal at Solomon High School since 2010. Prior to that she was assistant principal at Andover High School, and principal at Alamosa High School in Colorado, North Park Junior-Senior High, also in Colorado, and Morland Schools in western Kansas. She is a graduated of Bethany College and Fort Hays State University where she received her Master of Science and Education Administration.

About Kevin Rippe

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY. You can hear Kevin on daily news reports, as well as calling area high school football and basketball. Kevin lives in Marysville with his wife Melissa, and 4 children Brennen, Jacob, Bailee, and Joshua.
