5th Street in Beatrice now open to two-way traffic. Use Caution!

Just a friendly reminder that 5th Street in Beatrice is now a two-way street. It opened to traffic on Monday and Gage County authorities have been watching the area from Lincoln to Ella Streets, as there have been several vehicles using the wrong lane and verbal warnings have been given, as will be the case for the next few weeks while people become used to the two way traffic. Officers are also watching pedestrians crossing the street, as most people are just looking north to see if there is any on coming traffic and forgetting that traffic could be coming from the south now, so please remember to look both ways when crossing 5th Street in Beatrice. Those traveling 5th Street should drive with precaution, especially the next few weeks as everyone gets used to the two way traffic.
