Marysville City Council Discusses Water & Sewer Rates

Water and sewer rate increases were discussed at Mondays Marysville City Council meeting.  The council voted down a request by council-members Vicky Gross and Dennis Schroller that would have waived two remaining years of water rate increases planned. The vote was 2 for, and 4 against. They did however vote to repeal 2014 and 2015 proposed increases in sewer rates. That motion passed on a 4-2 vote, with Sean Cohorst and Tim Ackerman voting no.

In other business, the council voted to reduce the speed limit on Walnut from 30 to 20 miles per hour from 7th to 10th street north of the City Park. A $354,000 federal grant for lighting improvements at the airport was approved, with a city contribution not to exceed $5,000 toward weather information system improvements at the airport.
