2 men killed near Manhattan

Two people were killed in a car vs. semi accident near Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, just before 4 pm. According to the report by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Christian Rodriguez, age 23 of Wichita, was westbound on US Highway 24 a mile east of Seth Child Road, driving a 1999 Freightliner semi when the second vehicle, a 2001 Toyota passenger car, which was sitting at the stop sign facing south, pulled out in front of the semi. The driver of the car,Frederick Danenberg, ago 90 of Manhattan, and passenger Michael Myers, age 85, also of Manhattan, were both killed in the accident. Myers had lived in the Marysville and Waterville areas up until 2002 when he moved to Manhattan. His funeral is Monday morning in Marysville. The complete death announcement will be on KNDY.
