Washington County will be abuzz this weekend

Washington County will be abuzz this weekend with both the Linn Picnic and the Washington Rodeo going on. The Linn Picnic begins Thursday evening at 6:30 with the parade and the carnival open from 6-10 pm. Free entertainment by Jim Barnes and his band and musician Bailey Wilton will also take place Thursday night along with fireworks after dark. Friday night the carnival will again be open from 6-10 pm, the Figure 8 races are at 7 and free entertainment and dance by DJ Dusty Bonar. Saturday will be a busy day with the 5K Fun Run and walk at 7 am, the Linn American Legion baseball team will have a double header starting at noon, the Carnival is open from 6-10 pm, with the demolition derby at 5:30 pm and after that a free dance with “Velvet Elvis” performing. The Washington County Rodeo will be Friday and Saturday evening beginning at 7:30 each night. Kids events will take place both nights with stick horse races on Friday and steer riding on Saturday, only 10 entries will be accepted. There will also be a free BBQ to the first 500 thru the gate Friday night from 5:30 to 7:30. Miss Rodeo K-State, Lindy Singular, of Linn, will also be on hand both nights.
