Washington County Commissioner Minutes 5-6-2013

The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Monday, May 6, 2013 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse.  Present:   Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairwoman; Roger Otott, Vice Chairman, 2nd District Commissioner; Gary Ouellette, 3rd District Commissioner; and Denae Dimler, County Clerk.


Next regular meeting will be Monday, May 13, 2013 at 8:30 A.M.


Chairwoman Mueller called the meeting to order.


Duane Bruna, Environmental Science Director, reported on routine matters.


Justin Cordry, Sheriff, reported jail count is 12 inmates.  The Board authorized the purchase of a new Ford Interceptor SUV for the Sheriff’s department.


Payroll change notice was signed for Dan Baker for the completion of training program.


Lou Kern, Public Building Commission (PBC) Project Manager/Coordinator, informed the Board that a PBC meeting has been set for Wednesday, May 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


Janice Kearn, County Health Administrator, gave the Board information on regional public health workshops and asked them to consider attending one of the workshops this year.


A motion was made, seconded and carried to sign an interlocal agreement with Kimeo Township to maintain township roads.


A motion was made, seconded and carried to sign a utility permit with JBN Telephone Inc. for use of public right of way.


David Willbrant, Public Works Director, reported on routine matters.  Reinforced concrete pipe bids will be opened May 13th at 11:00 A.M.  The Board asked David to implement a policy where Public Works would contact landowners prior to brush and tree clean up that would involve work around a landowners’ fence line.
