The Marysville City Council had a longer meeting than usual with many topics covered, including the tennis courts. Jeff Crist presented a quote to repair all 8 courts, with the City paying for 3 courts, the school paying for 3 courts, and a grant from the U.S. Tennis Association to pay for the other 2 courts for just over $326,000 total. Also, a lightning protection system was approved for the water plant at a cost of just over $9,500. They are going to see if insurance will cover any of that cost. Also, City Clerk Debbie Price was approached about a circus coming to Marysville and the council approved the use of the City Park for the circus on June 13 and 14. Also, Wayne Kruse approached the council about the ArtoberFest to be held October 5 and having several streets downtown blocked off that day. The council approved all the requests except for 9th Street from the Advocate southward, so as to not block the Post Office.
