The Marshall County Commissioners Thursday morning issued a proclamation of a local disaster emergency for the county. It was issued because of flooding throughout the county and the EF-2 tornado that went through parts of the county Monday night. The action could help to trigger federal and state aid to possibly help the businesses and homeowners affected by the storms. It’s been four years since Marshall County last issued this type of proclamation, after a hail storm went through the area. Also, the Marshall County Commissioners will not meet on Monday, June 3, due to the fact that 2 out of the 3 Board Members will be out of town. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Monday, June 10.
