Voter turnout very low in the area

Voter turnout for the City and School elections around the area were very low, but about what was anticipated. Marshall County had the highest percentage of voter turnout with 26% while Nemaha County only had 1/2 of that at 13%. Washington County was in the middle at roughly 21%. For the most part that was what was anticipated by the County Clerk’s before the election. On that note, the final tally between Breta Bloomberg and Vicky Sue Gross will be decided Monday when the votes are canvassed by the County Commissioners. As of Tuesday night, Gross had one more vote than Bloomberg, who were running for Marysville City Council Ward 3. 18 provisional ballots are in need of counting, however those ballots could be for other spots in the county.
