PQA+ Certifcation program coming up May 10 in Beatrice

University of Nebraska Extension in Gage County is hosting the last Pork Quality Assurance plus (PQA+) certification and re-certification program before the new system comes into place in June 2013. The PQA+ session will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday May 10 at the Extension Office Meeting Room on the Fairgrounds in Beatrice. All Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas pork producers are welcome. The costs for the program are being covered by Nebraska Pork Producers. The instructor will be Extension Educator Emeriti Larry Germer.

The new PQA+ program requires open book testing for either certification or re-certification. The new PQA+ program will also offer an on-line re-certification and testing option.
