River Valley Extension will be conducting two district wide Hazardous Occupations Safety Training’s in Agriculture, tractor and machinery safety,for youth, ages 14-15, in May. The first training will be Saturday May 11 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the 4-H Building in Belleville and the second one will be Saturday May 18 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Extension Office in Clay Center. Federal Law requires youth to take these training’s and become certified in order to work for anyone, other than their parents. Youth must register at any River Valley Office by Friday May 3. Registration forms are available at the extension offices or online at rivervalley.ksu.edu. Youth must register by the deadline, complete all the assignments prior to class, attend one of the training’s all day, pass the written exam, and complete a driving requirement after the completion of the course.
