Free Access to Washington County Transfer Station April 25-27

All Washington County residents and businesses will have free access to the Washington County Transfer Station Thursday April 25 thru Saturday April 27.

They will accept appliances, furniture, mattresses and box springs, scrap metal, wire, and electronics free of charge those three days.  Your normal household trash, tires, and construction and demolition material will be charged at their normal rates and you must be able to unload in the proper areas or full price will be charged.

In conjunction, the city of Washington will have a clean up day, Thursday April 25. Curbside pickup will be available that day free of charge for appliances, furniture, mattresses and box springs, computers, and other items. Again, normal household trash, tires, and construction and demolition material will not be accepted. All items must be placed on the curb by 8 am on April 25, with the city starting at the south end of Washington and working its way north.

If you need assistance getting items to the curb, you may request help by contacting the city office at 785-325-2284 by noon on April 24.
