The Washington County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind travelers that the blacktop road between Highway 36 and Greenleaf has a 55 m.p.h. speed limit. They realize it’s easy to turn off of Highway 36 and just stay at 65 m.p.h., but the speed limit is 55. As a result, the Sheriff’s Department will be increasing patrol of that roadway in the upcoming future to address the problem. Slowing everyone down on that stretch of road will assist in public safety on the roadways. They thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and if you have any questions or comments, you may contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
