U.S. Highway 36 is celebrating it’s 100th anniversary this week. The U.S. 36 Association contingent were in Topeka on Thursday, the 100th anniversary date of the beginning of Highway 36, originally named the Rock Island Highway because it ran parallel to the Rock Island Railroad for several miles.
C.F. Travelute of Marysville was one of the original board members. Chad Kramer of Marysville is the current President of the U.S. Highway 36 Association and he was in Topeka for the ceremony and tells us what all took place at the Kansas State Capitol.
