For thirteen years Marysville Main Street has been a vital part of our downtown community. In 2000 the Main Street board and businesses adopted the program to look toward the future. Since then the City of Marysville and its business owners have reinvested over $12 million into the community in order to keep downtown alive. As many communities see their small towns shrink and their business districts close, Marysville has seen its downtown remain filled with business, many doing renovations while maintaining the historical character.
Marysville Main Street has had two visioning sessions, the first in 2000 and the second in 2006. These visions along with the Main Street Mission are listed on the back. The Main Street district in Marysville continues to be a special part of our community, as it houses retail, dining and many services for our community. As technology grows, business owners retire, new businesses open, and community needs change it is important that we update our vision for Marysville Main Street once again.
We would like to ask for your help in doing this! On April 3, 2013, at the Marysville City Building at 5:30 p.m. we would like to ask you to be a part of the next vision for Downtown Marysville. It is important to have people from all walks of life to do this — business owners, community leaders, students, retirees and anyone who is excited to see Marysville grow.
The vision session will be led by former State Main Street Director, Mary Helmer and will last about 3 hours. Dinner will be included. We will look at our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats downtown. From these we will obtain a new vision for the next 5 years of Marysville Main Street!
Your vision, opinion and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
See you soon,
Marysville Main Street Board of Directors

Marysville Main Street Mission
It is the Mission of the Marysville Main Street Program to promote community spirit, awareness of Marysville downtown, unique shopping, dining and commercial activity with the project area through the use of the National Main Street “four point approach.” Revitalization, complimented by architectural preservation, will enhance the historical, cultural, social and economic benefits for the Marysville residents of today and in the future
Marysville Main Street Visions
2000 - To have more retail stores, specialty shops, and unique restaurants “where you can sit down and relax,” and no trains through the center of town. A busy, bustling, prosperous and welcoming Downtown, where unique, historical buildings – like the Koester block – give you the flavor of another era. A Downtown that residents are proud of, that makes visitors feel like they have to come back and that residents and visitors want to tell their friends and family about.
2006 – Downtown Marysville is a growing, progressive, friendly hub of activity for all ages. A place where businesses cooperate to provide innovative and convenient shopping and services for the community and region. Downtown Marysville is a unique destination dedicated to preserving its past — a place to experience with family and friends.
