A new group was formed this week set to restore the former U.P. Depot for public use and promotion of rail history. The group will be called the Marysville U.P. Depot Preservation Society. Rachael Frye of Marysville was elected President, Leroy Schroller, Vice President, Annie Shain, Treasurer, and Sarah Kessinger, Secretary. They are considering ways to raise enough funds to buy the building from the railroad and start a preservation project. Landmark Enterprises, which was working towards buying the depot and preserving it, has turned the project over to the Society and plans to give funds raised towards the project to the society, as well. The group will meet again this Monday at 5:30 at the Marysville Library and then attend the City Council meeting that night to tell them of their plans.
