Kansas Wheat Commission Looking for 2 to Serve on the Board

The Kansas Wheat Commission is looking for two active wheat farmers to fill at-large positions.  The newly elected commissioners would be on the board for three years beginning in April.  As part of the Commission, they set budget priorities, establish policies and procedures that determine research, education and nutrition priorities, along with learning leadership skills and gain insight on the wheat industry.  You must be willing to travel in and out of state, with only a few overnight trips per year.  It’s a not a payable position, but all travel expenses will be reimbursed.  Current commissioners going off the board are Richard Randall of Scott City and Doug Keesling of Chase.  Interested wheat producers must send a personal resume, plus a letter of interest with a brief biography to Justin Gilpin.  His email address is jgilpin@kswheat.com.  They must be in to him by March 19.  Selected applicants will be asked to participate in a phone interview and a decision will be made in April.  To learn more about the Kansas Wheat Commission, log on to kansaswheat.org.
