The Waterville Opera House and the Koester House Museum in Marysville received news that they will each receive almost $90,000 through the Kansas Heritage Trust Fund Grants. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Opera House will receive $89,800 for exterior repair and restoration of windows, doors, and guttering and to do some work on the stone exterior. The museum will receive just over $87,000 to make repairs on the
exterior windows and wood, add some storm windows, painting the outside of the house, including windows and trim, remove and rebuild the south wall of the brick and wood coal house, repair the foundation walls and the south side of the summer kitchen.
The announcements were made Saturday in Topeka.
